Top of the Rock
New York City – the City that dreams big and stretches the limits of the skyscrapers. If you would like the best view of the city, two names would come to mind: Empire State Building and Rockefeller Centre. However, I think that the Rockefeller Centre offers a better view for really one good reason: you can view the Empire State Building from here! Aside from that, it offers a very good perspective of the entire city, with a 360 degree experience all year round. There is really no such thing as a good timing to view the observation deck – in a city that never sleeps, both daytime and nighttime would offer different views of NYC, and either way, you would be offered a very different experience.
Of course, Top of the Rock should not be the only thing that you should be catching at Rockefeller Centre – for Rockefeller Centre itself is an attraction deserving of its own right. Declared a historic landmark in 1987, it testifies to an early stage of the Art Deco movement of buildings. Indeed, its signature style can be found in mNew York zones of theme parks such as Universal Studios Singapore and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
On a busy day, do try to get there as early as you can to get a preferred timeslot! It can get pretty crowded, so it would do you best to either visit it early in the day or late at night. Each adult ticket costs US$27.
As you can see through the above photo journal, you really get a 360 degree perspective of New York City. On a cool day, the sceneries and breathtaking view can really inspire – it is no wonder that Rockefeller Centre has often seen many movies being filmed here.
The best time of the year to visit New York City is always Christmas – for that is where buildings get really decorated very beautifully. Here is a picture of Rockefeller during Christmas!
